This 1.5 gallon Beehive Jug Lamp is made at Maple City Pottery in Monmouth, Illinois. It is 16.5" x 67". The deisgn is a blue brush with a primitive brown finish. Each piece is uniquely made on the potter's wheel. The Maple City Pottery stamp is located on the back of the pot. This piece was finished with the salt glaze process which enriches the pottery with characteristics of the firing. When rock salt is added to the kiln to create a durable glaze, many variations occur...a spot of heavier glaze, colors range from grays to browns and browns flashings when two pots "kiss". This adds to the uniqueness of Maple City Pottery's hand-crafted salt-glazed stoneware.
